IN MEMORY OF HE. O. DR. KWAME NKRUMAH

  Honoring the Legacy of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Today, September 21, 2025, marks the birthday and memorial day of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first President and a champion of African liberation. Born in 1909 in Nkroful, Western Region, Nkrumah dedicated his life to fighting for Ghana's independence and pan-African unity. Early Life and Education Nkrumah's educational background played a significant role in shaping his future. He attended Achimota School, Lincoln University, and the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned multiple degrees, including a Master's in philosophy and education. His time abroad exposed him to radical ideas, including Marxism and pan-Africanism, which later influenced his political philosophy. Leadership and Achievements Nkrumah's leadership was instrumental in Ghana's independence. He formed the Convention People's Party (CPP) and led the country to independence in 1957.
